Every Kavseyn ring is made to order in solid 14K or 18K gold — so it's worth taking a minute to get your size right. We offer full and half sizes from US 4 to 12. Pick the method that suits you.

Measure a ring you already own

The most accurate method. If you have a ring that fits the finger you're buying for, start here.

  1. Pick the right ring. Choose one that sits comfortably on the finger you plan to wear your Kavseyn piece on — fit differs from finger to finger, and between hands.
  2. Lay it flat. Place the ring on a flat surface, on top of a ruler marked in millimetres.
  3. Measure the inner diameter. Measure straight across the inside of the band — from the inner edge on one side to the inner edge on the other, through the centre. Don't include the metal itself.
  4. Read it in millimetres and match it to the diameter column in the chart below. Half sizes matter: 16.5 mm is a US 6, while 16.9 mm is a US 6.5.

Tip: measure the same ring two or three times and take the average — half a millimetre is a half size.

Measure your finger

No ring to go by? All you need is a strip of paper, a pen and a ruler.

Cut a paper strip

Cut a strip of paper roughly 10 cm long and no more than 1 cm wide. Keep it narrow — a wide strip bunches up around the finger and gives you a reading that's too large.

Wrap it around your finger

Wrap the strip around the base of the finger you'll wear the ring on. It should sit snug — close to the skin, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle. If your knuckle is wider than the base, measure the knuckle instead.

Mark where it overlaps

Holding the strip in place, mark the exact point where the end meets the rest of the strip. A fine pen or pencil line is best — a thick mark can cost you half a size.

Measure it with a ruler

Unwrap the strip, lay it flat and measure from the end to your mark in millimetres. That length is your finger's circumference — match it to the chart below, half sizes included.

Tip: measure at the end of the day, when your hands are warm — fingers are at their largest then. If you land between two sizes, take the half size above.

Good to know

  • Mind the knuckle. The ring has to clear it — if your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, size to the knuckle.
  • Wide bands run snug. For bands 6 mm and wider, go up half a size.
  • Temperature matters. Fingers shrink in the cold and swell in the heat — measure when your hands are at room temperature or warmer.
  • Between sizes? That's what half sizes are for — and if you're still on the fence, take the larger one.
